Every year we wait for a few shows, the famous Miami Antique Show, the Las Vegas Antique Show, and the September Hong Kong show, where we seek, and buy, antique engagement rings, art deco and estate jewelry and GIA diamonds. However, there's another show we don't do any buying or selling…. just watching. That show is the Oscars, and this year's show did not disappoint! We watch to see what jewelry (specifically diamonds and arts deco jewelry) the stars are wearing.

This years Oscars, in our minds, was the emerald cut show starring Nicole Kidman! We love emerald cut diamonds and emerald cut diamond jewelry, and Ms Kidman did not disappoint. She was wearing a gorgeous estate emerald cut diamond bracelet and a 16.50 carat emerald cut diamond ring, courtesy of Harry Winston. Nicole looked simple stunning.

Another stunner was a favorite of ours, Lupita Nyong’o's. She was wearing a fabulous pair of drop diamond earrings, they were terrific . Vintagediamondring.com has a gorgeous pair of kite shape diamond drop earrings, please see them below: http://vintagediamondring.com/large-art-deco-style-kite-shape-diamond-drop-earrings.html

Our vintage diamond sightings also took note of Margot Robbie in a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and gem tassel necklace. Simply elegant and fantastic. Gorgeous semi-precious was in full bloom with another favorite star of ours, Cate Blanchett. She gave us the ultimate statement necklace with her bright turquoise necklace .

Another favorite of ours was the diamond necklace Zoe Saldana was wearing, courtesy of Neil Lane. It is valued at $1 million. Check out the baguette diamonds that go all the way around her neck. And, our last favorite was the delicate diamond necklace, by Piaget, worn by Jessica Chasten.

It had an interesting fringe of marquise cut diamonds. Fancy shaped diamonds are a pretty strong trend right now, and this is a nice use of them to enliven a classic silhouette, don’t you think?
