Conflict-free

Conflict diamonds and blood diamonds are a real issue in the world today.  That’s why we purchase all of our new diamonds from sellers who participate in the Kimberly Certification Process - established in 2003 to prevent diamond sales from financing the conflicts in Africa. Our antique and vintage diamonds are original to their rings and are not associated with modern conflicts. Our collection of conflict free engagement rings will feature original European and mine cut diamonds.

We also belong to stop blooddiamonds.org. We will provide our customers with accurate information regarding your diamonds and diamond purchases.

Kimberly Process

The Kimberly Process is a joint governments industry and civil society initiative to stem the flow of conflict diamonds, or rough diamonds used by rebel movements to finance wars against legitimate governments. The Kimberly Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) was created in 2000 when Southern African diamond-producing
states met in Kimberly, South Africa to discuss a way to stop trade in conflict
diamonds.

The KPCS imposes extensive requirements on its members to enable them to certify shipments of rough diamonds as Conflict-Free, preventing conflict diamonds from entering legitimate trade. Participants of the Kimberly Process may only trade with other members who have met minimum requirements of the scheme. Since the inception of the Kimberly Process, diamond experts estimate that a fraction of one percent of diamonds in international trade are conflict diamonds compared to 15% in the 1990’s.

 Gemstones are Conflict Free

Our precious, and semi precious, gemstone engagement rings have been purchased from estates throughout the world.  We will never source any new gemstones, since the monies are used to finance civil wars. Our gemstones were mined prior to the 1970's.  Our collection of antique gemstone rings predate this period, therefore they are ethical and conflict free. Our loose gemstones, and gemstone rings, are accompanied by certificates from the GIA and AGL gemstone laboratories. Many of our gemstones do not have any heat treatment.

 Green America

As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility our antique and vintage diamonds are original to their rings and are not associated with modern conflicts and do not use our natural resources. We guarantee this to all our customers.
