Diamond Prices

Where do we see the price of diamonds presently, and for the coming year?
Well, there are numerous forces pushing the prices of fine diamonds lower, and commercial goods are weakening.

With the Far East, most importantly China and India, in the midst of a recession, the prices of colorless and near colorless diamonds, along with those of flawless and VVS clarities, have moved downward.

Meanwhile, as the US economy inches slowly up, commercial colorless and near colorless diamonds (i.e.: VS2, SI and I1) should still weaken a little. However as low supplies are anticipated, the prices will most likely stay the same.

Pear shapes like this beauty have been selling strong.

Round diamonds have weakened, while fancy shapes such as oval diamonds, emerald cut, pear shape, marquise and princess cut diamonds have held steady.
